Tangerine Dreams
This piece is ode to Lisa-Marie-Presley-Walker-Harris. It is named after one of the colorful pairs of overalls we found in the ceramic room at Waterford. She named them all: tangerine dream, club soda with a twist, something about lavender and orange crush. Though that really has nothing to do with the subject of this painting, it is a fun memory and a lovely title.
I let my little girls take colored pencils to this painting. They drew little figures on her skirt. Sometimes I feel like I practically wear my children like I wear clothing. Even more, sometimes I feel like they have been woven into the fabric of my very being. The rest of the painting followed the little girl's style, with lollipop clouds on a warm and wacky summer day.

I love this painting!!, i saw myself in it (with the brown hair and all). You said what i feel "Sometimes I feel like I practically wear my children like I wear clothing. Even more, sometimes I feel like they have been woven into the fabric of my very being". Your paintings are the epitome of motherhood.
OMG! Love it. And I feel so special that I kinda/sorta inspired a title. It fits perfect. As I recall, you helped name the overalls. I think the lavender pair was called "Grape Crush". We rocked those overalls, though, and I too cherish the memories of afternoons spent in the ceramics room with you and the girls. I have some more news to share with you so I'll be emailin' you soon. XOXO
not to distract from your incredible paintings that I really do love but you can totally look up your dad on wikipedia. That is awesome! That should be my new goal... to do something that would get me on wikipedia. I love love love that you let your girls draw on this painting. I think it added such an incredible element to one your paintings about motherhood.
