Spring Cleaning
I finally got our playroom painted! It has almost been a year since I drew out the rooms for the house. Complete with kitchen (which is more often used as a restaurant), living room (oh, I epoxied the door handle on, don't worry Gav, it won't come off), and baby's room.
Something about January makes me go into home-improvement-project-mode and crave cleaning out the clutter. It's sunny and warm enough to open the windows and air out the paint fumes. Spring cleaning in January? When the moment moves you, you have to go with it. I dumped seven trash bags stuffed full of toys at DI last week. It felt so good! (Thanks Laurie for the inspiration, I envy your clean-freakiness.) Well, the playroom is painted and ready to accessorize. Did I mention how much easier it is to clean without so much junk? I sure hope they like it as much as I do. I keep going into the room and absorbing all the delicious color. Eye candy, yum. I'm having a hard time not attacking the whole house, I need more color!
While I was at it, I got a much-needed book shelf for my big girls' room. After the Ikea shelf fell for the third time, leaving unsightly holes in the wall each time and narrowly avoiding decapitation, the books have remained in piles on the floor, which is no good at all. Their room is way too cute for clutter. Closets are next...

Their play room is so cute! I love it! Congrats on getting it done.
I love the play room. I also love the feeling of a bright, clean, organized and still creative room. Good luck w/ the "spring" cleaning.
the playroom looks fabulous! it makes me want to be a kid again! i remember when we used to play dress up in your parent's downstairs guest bedroom. ahhh...good times.
I love it!!! Did you scrap the idea of the stage you were going to paint?
new pics! did you paint the flower border in the girls' room? so darling, emily! just like everything else you do!
Thanks guys. The stage is still in the works, it will be on the other side of the room. Yes, I did the girls room a while ago. I used the leftover paint for the playroom. I have so many ideas, it feels good to get some out and done!
Emily,
I popped in to see what creative things you are up to every now and then... I love your creativity and amazing talent! I love the rooms, they are so stylish and so fun! You are AWESOME!!!! Love your work!
Marsha
I love that your fake play room door has a nicer door handle than a single one in my house.
Hey, I got the door handle for 30 cents in a clearance bucket. Get minnie over here to play!
